SparkNotes hit a creative idea with this series: Why not incorporate SAT vocabulary words into a novel teens will read to make studying painless? Unfortunately, in their desire to make this novel "edgy" and "cool enough" for teens, the author succeeded in making it inappropriate for our household. From the first page, locker room profanity is abundantly sprinkled amongst the 25-cent SAT words.

I would recommend this book for tutors who are trying to find a vocabulary resource for older teens who need the "edgy" factor to hold their interest. However, with the exception of this very narrow audience, I do not recommend this book.
