This is one of the creepiest books I have read. I drug it everywhere with me until I finished it. My fiance and sister are now fighting over who gets to read it next.

I love Ed Lee, but after reading his Monstrosity I will never read another book by him that has worms in it. (shiver)

Lee at his finest with hybrid genetically mutated 'worms" 30 feet long that feed off their hosts and "military" of one kind or another testing their "pets" on unwitting (and unwilling) victims....
A group of people on an island for a photo shoot end up finding more than they bargained for, including giant killer worms & drug runners, and a few surprising twists at the end made this a pretty good read. Typical Lee with plenty of sex & gore and maybe a little too much scientific jargon on the life of worms but if you like Lee's style of writing, you'll love this one.

This book features a strong premise of three vastly different groups of people (one college students, one criminals, one scientists) finding themselves on an island with a parasitic worm that grows rapidly to disturbing proportions and use their human hosts in a variety of disgusting ways. The dialogue and character development, however, is difficult to struggle through and really detracts from the horror plot. The ending is definitely surprising, but I'm not sure if it was in a good way or a cop-out way. In any case, the plot was unique, and if you're not too much of a stickler for good dialogue and character development, you'll probably enjoy it. Be warned though that the blurb sells it as a sexually-tense horror, when it's definitely much more of a gross-out piece.
