SPOILER (this review contains spoilers) This is the first Veronica Sattler book I've read but I plan to read others. I liked the story although the hero is pretty unheroic. In a case of mistaken identity (and intent) Justin rapes Sabelle. They eventually discuss what happens and come together in happier ways but it always bothered me that he never apologizes or seems to feel any remorse for the rape. I don't like rape in a story in general because I doubt anyone "gets over it" as quickly and easily as most authors describe. That said, if rape is used between the main characters, I want the man to feel bad about it eventually! Setting that aside, the writing was good, I found mistakes but I was interested in all of the characters and the story being told.
