Because the books aren't selling (new) Charlene Ann Baumbich has had to quit the series.  There are legal reasons she cannot write the next one anyways.

If any of you can afford it, and even if you've already read the book, please go out and buy a new copy.  They do seem to go pretty quick here so you'll be able to pass it on easily.

Here is a short review of the first book in the series.  All six of the books are fun reading, as well as inspirational.

Meet Dearest Dorothy, Partonville's irrepressible octogenarian and the spunkiest lady in town. Welcome to Partonville, a circle-the-square town in the northern part of southern Illinois, where families and friends find that sharing the highs and lows of life's wild rides with one another makes the highs more exhilirating and the lows more bearable. Some, like Maggie Malone, owner of La Feminique Hair Salon & Day Spa, can't wait to see the looks on everyone's faces when she displays what she has been up to at their latest hair conference in Chicago.
