By Kevin J. Anderson I just wanted to say that if you're looking for a new series to start, and you like science fiction, you'll love The Saga of Seven Suns. In the fueture, humans colonize many planets and split into three factions. There are also the 'kind' Illdrians. It's a very complex and realistic setup. Super-powered aliens come out and start attacking each other. And the Humans suffer. There are even aliens living in suns! This is the greatest science fiction series ever. It's right up there with Star Wars and Doctor Who in my opinion. The closest thing to this I'd say is Dune

Hooray! Somebody else who likes this! I just bought BOOK 5 "Of Fire and Night" on paperback (what can I say, I refuse to pay Hardback prices for a long series). I 've read the first 4 books and loved them. Book 6 is out now in Hard Cover. It got a mindlindling review from SciFi Weekly But I won't make my mind up about it until I finish it. So far, I like and dislike Kevin Anderson. Some times he aggrevates me with TOO MUCH characterization.

Hard to beat a Kevin J Anderson book, in my opinion. One reason the SoSS series might remind you of Dune: He WROTE the Prequel novels... Now many will say that he CO-wrote those novels with Brian Herbert, but seriously, have you ever READ a Brian Herbert novel?? Once you do (if you make it all the way to the end) I think you will agree with me. Sorry. I've had that on my chest for a while...... |
