My first try of Kay's work, and I'm enjoying it immensely. He creates a very detailed world, built on familiar historical concepts but having a life of its own. The story is slow-paced, interwoven and intricate. The plot is not exactly driving or captivating, the characters are well written but they're not exactly the allure either, it somehow just all works together well. I will definitely continue the series and probably more by Kay.
