The first 90 to 100 pages were pretty slow-going, but once all the characters were introduced and relationships set, it picked up steam. Mrs. Bradley is an endearing sleuth, despite other characters referring to her in not very flattering terms.
An interesting touch was the appendix, a sort of diary written during her stay in Saltmarsh by Mrs. Bradley, outlining when she suspected who and how she planned to bring the culprit to justice.
