I just noticed that some of my older books are on Wishlists but my books have a different publication dates than the ones wished for.  It is the same book, isn't there some way to let these people know there are actually books available that they want but with different publication dates?

Thanks!

I asked that a while ago - another member recommended that you open the wish book and add a tag to it with the ISBN number of your book.  I usually write copies posted under ISBN:   then enter the isbn of your book.  It is still FIFO but some books moved for me!

Go to the genre forums and there is usually a thread going that list WL books wth different ISBN and of course the BB.

The tag will direct the next folks to WL the book to the other number.  Remember, a lot of WL books are Large Print or audio books.  The system is suppose to link the different versions of the same book and leave a red or green link below the description.  But if there is any difference, such as the middle name, they often don't link.

Using the tag really helps move your books.

It sounds like your books have a different ISBN, not just a different publication date.

Different editions of a book can have the same ISBN, while having different pub dates. Or books can have different ISBN, and have the same (or different pub dates).

When you are listing or requesting a book, the pub date does not have to match the book listing on PBS. The only things on your book that need to match the PBS book listing are (ISBN, Binding Type, Title, and Author).  Everything else can be different (so, cover can be different, # of pages, pub date, etc)

So, always list your books by ISBN, and double check the binding, title, and author.

And, what others added is true, you can tag the books so that people can see that they are available with a different ISBN.

I don't see any mention by the OP of it having different ISBN: if the ISBN matches then dont' worry about the publication date. The cover picture and publication date don't have to match.  Only Author, Binding, Title and ISBN have to match.  If people want a specific cover or publication date they need to have an RC requesting that.

Yes, you are correct, I wasn't clear in my first post. The ISBN doesn't match either but it is still the same book. It is frustrating knowing I have the book people are wishing for but it is a different ISBN. I have tagged the books and now I wait...patience, patience. Thanks for the input!
