I have received a book that appears to have had a section ripped out of the center. You know how they put those get your free book cards in the middle that are real thick. I believe it was one of those. It now makes the book flop open flat at that point making the complete spine shows all the way from top to bottom. It feels like the book is going to seperate into two pieces as the entire spine is creased from top to bottom as well. I find contradicting messages as to postable or not on this spine issue. Is this a rwap? |

I think you will still get conflicting advice. Here is what I think: If the book opens flat, and the binding is still in one piece, it is still postable (IMO) If the binding is actually split into 2 pieces and the paper is the only thing holding them together, then its a RWAP. |

If all of the pages are still intact, the book is postable. A book that opens to a particular page is still postable. A book that has spine creases is still postable. At this point, there doesn't seem to be anything about the book that falls into the unpostable category. eta: The Team's response towards the end of this thread http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=150725#p3161516 is what I go by. Thanks I was leaning to the postable side. So I won't mark it a rwap. But I probably won't post it back into the system after I read it though. I like to ask myself the question of would I be happy to receive this book as my quide to posting. And I am obviously not real happy with this one. Oh well its been a bad day on the receiving end for me. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. |
