She was the golden-haired daughter of General Kidd, the pampered darling of the Denver cavalry regiment..until a shadow fell across her path - a half-breed savage who made her blood run hot and her heart stop cold. Suddenly, Martay found herself the hostage of a man who would plunder her body... and capture her heart.

To the white man, he was the mixed-blooded James Savin, brilleant Harvard Law student. But among the Sioux he was Night Sun, the warrior chief who bore on his body the scar of his bravery-and of the white man's treachery. His beautiful prey was to be the tool of his vengeance. But he hadn't planned to become the captive of his own ravishing prisoner, ensnared by a dangerous love that shattered the bounds of both their worlds as it entwined their souls.

Recklessly she danced the night away. Newly arrived at the Denver cavalry post, she was the darling of the regiment..until a shadow fell across her path--a raven-haired man who made her blood run hot and her heart stop cold. No longer the dazzling debutante, Martay Kidd was suddenly the hostage of a man who would plunder her body, capture her heart, and carry her off into a world beyond her wildest dreams. The white man knew him as James Savin. The Sioux called him Night Sun, the bravest of all warriors. But his true identity was as secret as his plan for revenge on the cavalry officer who'd massacred his family so long ago. His plan was perfect. He'd meant to exchange his beautiful prey for the life of the general himself. But he hadn't planned on spiriting her back to his people, into the Dakota territory, the world he was meant to command. And he hadn't planned to become the captive of his ravishing prisoner, bound to a love that could never be.

Similar to her other book "written in the stars"...but is kind of sad near the end. I really enjoyed reading this one. And it was quite a hot read.

Savage Heat is a novel by Nan Ryan that I have read over and over again. The storyline is fabulous, and it stays interesting from the first page to the last. You won't want to put it down! If you enjoy a steamy, yet sensual love story, this book is definitely for you!
