This is a story of a young man, Chris, who has otherworldly powers which includes healing. As Chris's power becomes known, people clamor to see him and he starts out on country wide crusades with his research psychologist, Catherine and her boyfriend Eric backing him. Chris' mother wants nothing to do with Chris' public displays. She knows there's a dark side to Chris' power and she's afraid that will be unleashed as he grows in his powers. Catherine suspects it and warns Eric, now his PR manager, without telling him her suspicions. She doesn't want Eric to promote Chris the way he has planned. As Chris heals more and more people and grows in popularity, his dark side starts to emerge. This book is a good commentary on the effect of the media as well as a good suspense story.
