You can use the general search button to search for an author. You can have it show all books, just posted books or just WL books.  Or you can go under Advanced Search and be more specific about what binding, genre, author etc...,

A couple of other things you can try ...

I just learned about this feature the other day ... under "My Account" then "Lists" is a link to "Recommendations", where the PBS system will try to give some titles you might enjoy using FABIL (Find A Book I'll Like).

Also, LibraryThing http://www.librarything.com/suggest has a "Suggestions" feature, where you can enter a book that you love, and it will suggest similar titles.
