A member who just today requested two of my books has a profile that is listed as " We are sorry but this member has chosen to not share their profile". What could be the reason for this? Has anyone come across this type of thing before?

Should I be concerned about this?

(I found this out because I generally post books from a specific genre and I have a huge library at home that I tend to weed out on a monthly basis depending on my reading habits. I like to see if I have any other books from their wishlist that I can post for them to save myself shipping charges and just to be nice.)

actually I have seen quite a few folks that don't have profiles....it isn't required...I don't understand it but, some people are that way.

I pretty much pull up everyone's profile.  I'm just curious.  But if they don't have one, or it's not public, I don't worry about it too much.  Not everyone wants to be "out there."

Maybe they're a newer member and haven't gotten around to it.  I know I didn't update mine for a while after I joined.  I just forgot to do it!

Hmmm, I can understand what you are all saying. Considering that I mostly post pagan oriented books, I can see why someone would want to keep their profile private.

I doubt it's a newer member, I know that of the books they requested (or rather I mis-spoke, I should say that they were WL tites) have a rather long wait for them.

Meh, I'm sure I have nothing to worry about. :)

I've done a lot of transactions with people who have no public profile.  Some people just don't want to be bothered to set up one.

To have a profile or not is simply a matter of choice.   It wouldn't bother me to order from someone without a profile.   Actually,   I'd never know about it as it wouldn't occur to me to check for profiles when ordering books.

There is also the possiblity they are simply quite private people.

Or it could be like me . When they increased the security you have to go in and change the setting to let the profile show. It was not showing by default.
