Having only read a few of Keillor's Wobegon books, I picked this one up more for the photography than anything (being a photographer myself). It turned out to be an excellent read; the preface sheds a lot of light on how Lake Wobegon came to be, and people's reactions to it. The photos are absolutely beautiful shots, very well executed, with a definite artistry. They show the heartland the way I've always imagined it; I don't know that many people say, "Hmm, I think I want to visit Minnesota," but after finishing the book I know I want to see it for myself sometime. Enjoyed it very much.
