My youngest has still not fully moved over to potty train and I'd really like to encourage him and thought a book might help. I don't know name titles but if you can think of one for kids, not moms (I have four kids he just doesn't want to learn) I'll look it up and see if I can't get it. Thank you so much.

Mommy at wits end.

Here are the ones I liked best for my son:

The Potty Book for Boys by Alyssa Satin Capucilli

My Big Boy Potty by Joanna Cole

The Prince and the Potty by Wendy Lewison

These ones might also be worthwhile, but I haven't read them:

You Can Go to the Potty (from the Sears Childrens Library)

What to Expect When You Use the Potty (from the What to Expect Kids series) - my son likes the new baby ones

Two titles my son seems to like:

The Potty Book for Boys by Alyssa Satin Capucilli (already mentioned, so it must be good!)

Once Upon a Potty (for him) by Alona Frankel. This is also available on DVD!!! My son loves it! ;)

P.S. Have you ever tried letting him go bare-bottomed, watch him closely, and catch him mid-steam as he goes pee? This is what worked for my son. It only took less than a day's time, just by me catching him mid-steam 3 times, for him to catch on and go in his little potty himself. He even told us that he had to "potty" during dinner at the end of the first day of going bare-bottomed!!! That night, I caught him in the middle of a BM (thankfully we were outside!!!) and the next morning he went "poo-poo' all by himself in his little potty!!!...Trust me, I've worked in a toddler room daycare for many years, and was a nanny for a couple of very stubborn boys! Had this been an opion (not for daycare!), perhaps they would have potty trained before they were 3.5 years old, and not struggles with it for over a year's time. I know it's your fourth child, but remember everyone is different. I suggest doing an Internet search for "Potty Training in 3 days" and you will be amazed about the extent of information that may help you....Oh, my son is 25 month old and day-time trained--night time will be out next tackle! I have a book called

Early-Start Potty Training :: Linda Sonna and it suggests that potty training younger than the age of two is not only possible, but practical. Somewhere on-line, I read that some experts suggest that potty training gets more difficult after the age of two....I hope you find this information helpful! PM me if you have any questions! ;)
