This is a heartwarming story of what's really important in life...our relationship with God & our relationship with others.

This was an excellent story. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was too short. Really good though. A mother and her daughters share some wonderful times and memories together at the beach.

This was a wonderful story about two daughters who had to learn to have time for their mother only after they learned she was dying of ovarian cancer. A true story of growth and faith. I loved it.

This is from the back cover:
"In a cabin on the Florida coast...a mother's vacation with her two adult daughters furnishes more than cherished photographs of their time together. As secrets and a hidden sorrow come to light, it ushers in the healing of relationships-and riches not found in the fast lane of life."

This novella is only 120 pages long, but it's packed with emotion. The story takes place primarily over seven days and features Maggie, a world-renowned photographer, and her two adult daughters. She invites / summons them to spend a week with her at a borrowed beach cabin to clear the air of their strained relationships. Of course, Maggie has a very serious reason to reconnect with her daughters that she's reluctant to share with them.

The plot is similar to the song "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chaplin; Maggie has been 'too successful' in training her daughters to be busy and productive. Seaside was published in 2001, but the only aspect that feels dated are references to technology, of which there are many because the daughters are more focused on their responsibilities at home rather than their mother.

The themes of this story are universal and most readers can see themselves in one of the characters.

This was the first book I had read by Terri Blackstock. I thought it was very well written with a great storyline and kept my interest right from theh start. I would highly recommended it if you like contemporary Christian Fiction. I will definitely be reading more of her books.

A beautiful story of a mom who wishes that her two daughters would find the peace that God has to offer them, even among the storms that life brings.
