The adventurous author has visited and chronicled the East Coastal towns, waters, and people near the ocean - during the winter months! Traveling south to north, the weather worsening mile by mile, he writes of his adventures in thoughtful prose. I liked this book a lot.

Good winter read, a plus if you love the beach and its' eccentric residents.

The author moseys up the Atlantic coast in the off-season, looking for the "local" experience and the flavor of living in small coastal towns. He finds small adventures, colorful people, and, of course, some sense of himself.

fun to read about beach towns in the off season and what those towns are like when the crowds go away for the summer
