Excellent book! Love it!!! Several mail order brides come to the small town of Lookout only to find the Marshall didn't place the mail order bride advertisement. His two cousins did and now what should he do?

This is the second book in the series. I must say that I enjoyed this one more than the first. In this book 2 mail-order brides are left with no husbands. The Corbett brothers caused the problem so they are stuck paying for the girls room and board till other husbands can come along. Leah wants a stong man and no kids--she had enough with her large family--being the oldest she worked hard but no more. Shannon misses her mom and now she works for the same men who put her in a tough spot. Will God help these ladies find true love? Funny and well written.

Although I enjoyed this book, it didn't leave me with the "I can't put it down" feeling. I also noticed several discrepancies regarding the names of towns/cities and such that make me think they rushed this through editing. There is a lot going on in this book, but it is a quick read about forgiveness and trusting God.

I really enjoyed this story by Vickie McDonough, Second Chance Brides. This is the story of Shannon and Leah, two of the brides in the first book of the series. Good story!

This is the 2nd book in the Texas Boardinghouse Brides series. It is actually the story of Leah and Shannon, 2 of the mail order brides who ended up without husbands. The girls are stranded in Lookout so the Corbett brothers who caused the mail order mess in the 1st place are paying for their room and board at the boardinghouse. This is costing them a good bit so the brothers come up with the idea to host Saturday socials for the town's single men and women. I love the closeness of everyone at the boardinghouse and I loved how Rachel accepted the 2 girls so readily even though they came to town to marry Luke, who is her husband now. I loved reading Leah and Shannon's love stories but neither girl had an easy time of it but who said love was easy. Great, great story! Can't wait to read Finally A Bride, Book 3 in the series!

I loved this 2nd in series. Getting 2 love stories in one book was a bonus.
Shannon and Leah were 2 of the mail order brides who came to Lookout hoping to wed the town marshal. When that didn't work out, they need to find a way to support themselves or find another husband. Getting to continue to know the other townsfolk is always a plus for me. And young Jack is having growing pains as she deals with hanging with the wrong crowd. Spiritual lessons to be learned by all.
