This is a typical Danielle Steel romance novel: rich heroine who falls in love then some terrible separation with reconciliation at the end. I do tire of the wealthy Ms. Steel seems to favor and she name-dropped several expensive designers throughout the book such Hermes, Dior, Givenchy, Blahniks, etc. I was not impressed and couldn't relate at all to the haute coutoure world at all. I don't know why I continued reading it! It was a chore. I hope that Ms. Steel gets back to writing about real people with real jobs and who struggle financially.
If you're looking for a romance novel with some twists and turns that ultimately lead to a happy ending then "Second Chance" is the book. Danielle Steel won't win awards for her writing style, nor will the ending surprise you, but whoever said that was a bad thing?
