Second Chances
Author: Carolyn Faulkner
There was just no getting away from that fact that Holly Johnson was fat. She knew she wasn?t cute and round, or pleasingly plump. She was fat - and smart and funny and impish. Chance Thompson was, in a word, not. Very not. In fact, he was downright gorgeous ? and dominant and loving and supportive. He was always more than willing to lend Hol...  more »

I have mixed feelings about this book. This is not an action book. There is alot of hot sex and lots of spanking if that's what you like - but I had a hard time feeling for these two. She is a brat and he is a bully... They split up for a year because he was caught kissing another girl... Ehhh... Kept reading until the end to see what happened but - did it really quickly...

Well, I didnt really care for this one. There was several things that bothered me.

It was beyond annoying that Holly put herself down constantly, calling herself fat, and a blob, and so on and so on. She just couldnt get it through her head that Chance wanted her and had always wanted her. Even when he was stripping right in front of her, in her bedroom, she just didnt get it. Why would he want me? Im not worthy. Blah, Blah, Blah.

Some of the things that came out of Chance's mouth just amazed me. What kind of grown, sexy, dominent type alpha male says things like 'Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle.". Or 'Boy howdy.' Wow. None that I know of. Or want to know of.

It also felt, at times, that instead of showing you how their relationship was built, the author just told you that it did.

The spanking / BDSM aspect of it just seemed tacky and juvenile. I just wasnt feeling it.
