I loved the circular theme of this book...family driven out of Scotland due to the Highland Clearances, settles in Nova Scotia where they thrive, revere "the old country" and "the old ways" yet when the World Wars occur, are amongst the first to send their boys off to fight. This story follows the family and it's fortunes for about a hundred years, culminating in the discovery of a new generation of the family in Scotland. Along the way I came across several characters from the author's book, "Daisy's War", which was like meeting old friends. If you like family sagas, I would think you would find pleasure in this book.
