Interesting take on vampires.

Lee Nez is a night walker or a Navajo vampire who is out to get all the skinwalkers and right a great wrong committed over 50 years ago when he was turned into a half vampire....ok it sounds weird, but this is really a good series and is sort of like Stephen King meets Tony Hillerman. Lots of Indian lore and lots of exciting suspense and even a little romance.

Great Vampire/Detective read!!

This is a different take on the vampire concept - a Navajo Nightwalker who can come out in the day. I liked it and plan to continue reading the series.
I really like the Ella Clah series better. There really isn't any supernatural aspect in it ...just a very good police mystery.

It's differnt, but I liked it. Not your typical Navajo mystery.

what a great book. I just finished this book and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was well written and easy to stay with. The characters were believable and the story was a great story. I liked the Navajo take on Vampipres. All in all I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a interesting vamp story.

From the description, I assumed this was a police procedural but it's not. Officer Lee Nez is a vampire searching for the evil German vampire who made him during WWII. A bunch of Navajo skinwalkers are hunting Lee as vampires are their natural enemy. FBI agent Diane Lopez is investigating one occurrence where Lee was attacked by wolves (skinwalkers). Of course, Lee can't tell her what's really going on since she'd question his sanity.

The books ok bt not very exciting. Kinda just plods along with no real suspense. Lee Nez is not a unlikable character but not really a likable one either. Definitely wouldn't continue with this series, I'm just not interested in Lee's further adventures as a vampire.

I was not particularly impressed with this book. A half-vampire Navajo nightwalker was an interesting idea, but unfortunately, the book suffered from clunky, amateurish writing. I won't bother to read any more of these.
