As I was reading this book, I was amazed at the sheer dysfunctionality of this family. But whereas the story could be sad, Friedmann writes with such humor and brings to life such over-the-top characters, the book is bittersweetly funny. Great read for those who love Southern authors and Southern stories!

I enjoyed this book quite a bit - Jerusha Bailey was a very funny character and this book had several laugh-out-loud-funny parts. All in all, it made for an amusing read and I'm glad it had a good ending.
