The Secret Countess, by Eva Ibbotson
I listened to this on audio book mainly because of the incomparable Davina Porters narration and the story seemed interesting. Having just finished another book revolving around the Russian Revolution, they are quite different books. I have never heard of Eva Ibbotson and was surprised at her lengthy backlist. This book is a sweet book and is advertised as a Y/A book, which I usually dont normally seek out. The main characters Anna Grazinski a nineteen year old Russian Countess émigré who after losing everything finds herself in England and in need of work.
It is very Pollyanneish, Anna seems to bring out the very best in people. So If you want a sweet, clean love story with beautiful prose this is the book for you. 4 stars.
