I'd heard so much about this book, good things. I love all types of southern fiction, and was in the mood for something lighter, humorous. I quit after 40 pages of nothing happening but go-nowhere dialogue, watching an insipid heroine do-nothing but get drunk. I feel the author was trying to be another Fanny Flagg. For me, she failed miserably. I give it half a star because I otherwise couldn't post the review.
