I was a little hesitant to read this book because I find LDS fiction to be sad. This book did make me sad. I cried like a baby. Luekemia always tugs at my heart. There were parts of this book that I really liked. I loved Brett's journal entries to Kitty. I found them so tender and emotional. I felt the author really touched on the hard reality of a dying teenager and I loved Brett's devotion to his little sister. I was wondering though about Kathy's family and why they never told her how he felt about her. Why did they allow her to go 16 years feeling bitter about her dead brother? The teenage drama stuff was fun I guess and the LDS conversion stuff was a little cheesy, but I can see how a teenager would really enjoy the story. Truthfully, this book kept my attention and I truly did like the journal entries.

Being younger than my siblings by 18, 17, and 10 years, I was extremely empathatic with Kathrine Colton. A very touching story, a little heavy on Mormonism, but an enjoyable tale.
