This book is a tremendous help for anyone trying to understand how/why they do what they do. The author, a hypnotherapist, brings years of professional work with clients to the rest of us, describing how our most uncomfortable, vulnerable feelings are actually signposts from our psyche. He also talks about the cycle of distraction practiced by so many in our culture - how we shop, eat, gamble, watch too much tv, drink/take drugs in order to get away from feeling sad/angry/lonely/afraid, etc. It make a lot of sense within that context. Just an amazing book! Combined with EFT, it becomes a true healing tool.
