I don't usually read books about mediums. Neither do I watch tv shows or movies about mediums. Actually, I was taught that the whole business of being a medium is at best a sin and at worst some type of forbidden witchcraft. However, let me just say that I really enjoyed Secrets of the Monarch. Allison (the author) is just like the rest of us except she has an extraordinary gift--- being able to communicate with the dead. Though it may sound creepy and spooky, Allison is able to put you at ease as she explains her gifting and the work she is able to contribute to society because of it. She offered me a fresh perspective towards life in general. And, she imparted peace of mind that, yes in fact, the dead continue to live. This is a light read and I had a good time learning about the author's world.
