This book was dull. I was able to understand the situation Portia was in but Marcus was way shallow. His character never really developed, especially tricky with a "second son" story. I didn't believe he really cared for Portia. Even the love scenes were super tamed! The subplot wasn't developed and the ending was too convenient. Very disappointing.
