While I enjoyed Betsy Prioleau's take on these historical seductresses -- I probably would have stayed awake more in history class if I had learned of some of these women and their rebellious, sexual behavior -- I could have done without the page fillers of repetitious references to the goddess, Inanna/Ishtar, and feministic "we are women, hear us roar" talk. I felt the stories of these women and their rags-to-bedroom riches were empowering enough.

I agree with the previous reviewer. Felt more like I was reading a textbook. These were fascinating women and deserved to be presented as such.
