Not long ago, another member wanted know if everybody could see her address on her profile (because she could see it there). Another member said you can only see it if it's your address. Well I just looked at one of my friends profiles, and I can see his. Will someone take a quick look at my profile and see if you can see my address? As crazy as it sounds, I trust just about everybody in the forums, it's the random members that make me a little weird. Thanks!

I can only see your city and state, but not your street address or zip code.

I think you're wise to be wary.  I just had a lesson in this exact thing......

A couple of years ago my husband and I signed an on-line condolence book for a military man killed in Iraq.  Last week I received a letter and religious propaganda from, shall we say, a church well known for their door-to-door evangelizing.  The letter used both the website and the man's name in the letter.  I did call the church who sent it and let them know exactly what I thought of their methods.  They freely admitted where they had gotten our name.  They surf the internet looking for names and cities and then look on-line to find the actual addresses.  I went so far as to contact the condolence website to let them know that this was happening.  They weren't terribly concerned.

The internet is a wonderful thing, but there's way to much information available, even in such innocent things as simple condolence messages.  What has world come to?  (she asks, shaking her head)

There's a setting that allows other people to see your address if you choose to - this is NOT the default....for that to be enabled, the person must have enabled it. So for you to able to see his address, he must have it  set to 'Only Friends'  or 'Friends of Friends.'
