Is there a way to see how the next person is on a WL without posting the book ? I have a WL book (The Last Song in case you want to walk me through how to do this) I want to offer as part of a package deal only so I can't post it into FIFO. Just want to know who the next person in line is so I could PM them and see if they are interested. Thanks |

No, we can't see who's the next person in the WL line. If you want to offer a deal about your book, you can always post in the Book Bazaar. |

I did and there are no takers despite the fact that there are around 1000 wishers! |

It may have to do with the way you worded your deal. I just checked it myself and I wouldn't order 5 books (which probably have hundreds of copies in the PBS system because those Sparks books are popular) to get one WL book. |

I agree with D.G. I wouldn't spend 5 credits just to get one WL book, especially since the people wishing for it probably already have several of his novels or are wanting to just check this one out based on seeing the movie. You list The Lucky One as a freebie in addition to The Last Song. Does that mean it's wish listed too? If so, you could always offer those two as a package deal. I believe there is a thread devoted to those wanting to combine wish listed book orders in the BB. Plus that way you still get 2 credits for the books but only send to one requestor.

Jessica B., People who have wishlisted the latest Nicholas Sparks book have probably already read some or all of his previous books. And, people who haven't read his books yet are not likely to want to order 5 of them at once, to get one free, when they don't even know if they will like his books or not. If you really want to offer those books in a deal, you should at a minimum, open the offer up to include your whole shelf. Just a thought. Last Edited on: 2/11/10 3:38 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Just make sure you don't post the book and then PM them your *deal*. It totally not allowed to require someone to order more books to get the offered one. Very rarely would someone order 5 available books to get 1 free - they could sell those 5 credits and go buy the book just as easily and get a brand new one and not be stuck with books they didn't want/already read. |

What others have said...my wishlisted books are there because I want that book--I probably have either already read previous books by that author or may have them on my TBR already. And I would never think to order five books by an author I haven't read at all. Cheryl |

I wouldn't pm someone about a deal where I had to order five books to get one free. When I am looking for deals in the Bazaar, I am looking to maximize my credits. (Like I need more books!) That just wouldn't entice me....sorry! I don't mean to come off disrespectful if I do. I agree with other posters, if you want to do 6/5 you should open it to your whole shelf. Sometimes it's hit or miss in the bazaar. For the longest time I had 40 childrens books, and I was willing to send them all for 5 credits. No takers. I RAOKed them to a school librarian. I bet it made her day when they arrived! I just wanted them outta here! |
