I searched the forum and the help docs and didn't find anything that applied to my question. I wanted to know how you can see the ratings on a review that you posted. I know that when you post a review, yours looks a little different from everyone elses because it doesn't have the thumbs up or down....but will it show when someone rates your review?

go to lists/reviews - click on the book in question so it brings you to the book search then click on read reviews - if your book has been rated it will have it listed on the to right of the review..how many members rated it positive or negative.    if no one has rated it - I think it just has your name.  hope this helps

edited to add:  if the book hasn't been rated - it will be under rate this book - but if you wrote the review it will not give you the thumps up or down.

That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure, because none of my reviews have been rated yet. Thanks!

You can also go to your public profile from your main account page and click on 'Book Reviews' on the right side.  That will show you a list of your reviews all in one place with any ratings they've been given.

I'm pretty sure it only tells you how many thumbs up you got. A while back some people were in a tizzy and very hurt that their reviews received thumbs down. I also think there was some pettiness where people were marking certain people's reviews thumbs down based on something they posted. So I'm pretty sure it was changed so that you couldn't see thumbs down. I couldn't care less if someone didn't like my review, but wish we were still able to see that info.

I know one of my reviews had a thumbs down, I used to be able to see that.

Janelle,  those people were so petty.  How ridiculous.  I never vote thumbs down unless it's a review with only a "blurb" that's already the description or a description of a condition of a member's book.  Anything is just being mean.

I'm with Ruth.  I've never marked a review thumbs down except those that say something along the lines of "I didn't read this book".  I wouldn't do it for a DNF, I've never put that in a review though.  Silly, if you're not going to write a review of the book why bother reviewing it?

Cassie, apparently you've stimulated interest in your reviews, because when I look at them from the link on your profile, they've all been rated :-)

Cheers,

Catt
