I am in my first book swap.   On Saturday morning, I went to a post office an mailed a package with 2 books.   Besides this package, I have a single book, with the PBS wrapper, and a book that I sold on ebay.  It is not the "official" post office, where everybody wears uniforms, and the flag flies outside.   It is a small satellite P.O., inside a commerce center.  They say they are a real P.O., and can provide all the services of the big P.O., across town.  I send the books off, Media Mail, with D.C.  I have the D.C. slip, with neon green strips, top and bottom.    The lady helping me, just sort of tosses the other packages pre-metered postage in the white bin behind her.

I go home, find out that I have 2 more books to send off.  Well, I pack them, and back to the same post office.   I get the same woman (I knew that was a mistake).   I send it off, Media Mail with DC.  I get another DC slip, with neon green stripes.

Last night, I go to the P.O. website, just to check the DC #s.   When I plug in the # of the second package, it says "Item Delivered 12-1-07 to 33919!"  My zip!  What does this mean?  Is my package going to end up back at my house this week, or worse, lost?!    I am going to try to go back to the P.O. today.     Anyone see this before??

Sounds like somebody pushed the wrong button on either the hand-held scanner or the POS scanner. Your package(s) should still be okay and on their way to their destinations, Betsy.

I have one of those little satelline PO's in my town. I don't go there if I have anything other than straight forward postage to buy.  They are the reason I started using PBS postage.  Everytime I went there I had a problem and it took forever. Once they wouldn't let me mail audiobooks as media mail.  They work for the grocery store that has the satellite and not the post office.  I haven't had any problems at the actual PO but there is usually a line and it's not convenient for me.

Update:  Connie, you were right.  The package in question did in fact arrive at its destination, even though the PO website still says it was delivered to my zip, the day I mailed it.   Go figure.    The other package of 2 swap books hasn't arrived yet, but that one is going to California, so would probably take longer.

Thanks.
