I recently requested a book and had it declined by the sender. Because it was a book I really wanted I sent the sender the message noted below. A week later I got her reply....which was sort of weird. Not sure if she was mad or just making her point as the beginning of her message was all in caps (or did that by accident)...............she states she never had the book ...nor did she ever post it. How is that possible?? I PM'd my original message to her straight from my transaction archive where the book was declined to me. Is this unusual???????

Lakeside Cottage by Susan Wiggs Tammie F. (scubagirl13) - Greenwich, CT ? xxxxxxxx 7/11/2010 @ 2:41 PM ET Hi, I see you declined my request for your book...and I was just wondering if you could please tell me the reason why? Unless it is for cigarette smoke it is very possible I would still like to request it from you. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's weird. She may have posted it in error, then deleted it.

I'm guessing she probably posted it in error. But glitches have been known to happen.  The request has probably already been passed on to someone else unless it was the only copy.  I wouldn't have bothered to PM.  If someone cancels a book request then they obviously for some reason couldn't send the book.

I just checked and for 1 paperback version there's over 300 copies posted and 4 for another so if it was one of those then the book has been reordered for you. I'm wondering why you would even bother to PM in the first place.  There should be another request pending for the book already.

I PM'd her because I have a couple of RC's that can be considered "picky " (which I totally understand and have no problem when requestors chose to pass me by ) by some senders ....and if she had declined it for something other than cigarette smoke smell I would have asked her to send it anyhow or let me re-order it without my RC.

Surprised to hear you saw so many copies of this book available............I still haven't gotten one!

She may have mistyped an ISBN and ended up posting a book that she didn't have, and didn't pay attention when she was posting. It's unfortunate when people do that, as that is how books get posted to the wrong bindings. But, can't change the world, only a few people at a time :)

Probably something like that............and no big deal. I have enough books stacked up to get me thru a "few weeks...hahahha". And I know sooner or later this one will pop up as available. I have yet to not get a book I have on my wishlist...nor has the wait ever been unreasonable.   Actually with the arrangement of a credit/or postage what could even qualify as an unreasonable wait......................!!!!!!

Sorry If you ever get the book, hopefully I may be able to get it

This makes me think maybe she meant to add it to her WL and instead posted it.

I actually had a request for a book last week that was never posted to my bookshelf.  We have never owned or read the book either!  It was just some odd glitch in the system.  Maybe this is what happened in this case as well.
