The Sensuous Vegetarian Barbecue
A hot and healthful collection of recipes, marinades, and grilling tips.

Over 120 recipes! All recipes are Vegetarian and Vegan, except some recipes call for honey. All meat-free, dairy-free and egg-free! Some recipes include tofu, TVP, tempeh, seitan, and even one with Yves Chili Dogs and two others with Yves Veggie Pepperoni. (Eleven recipes call for liquid smoke). There are also some with soy milk or soy cheese. There are lots of grilled vegetables like potatoes, artichokes, peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, squash and mushrooms and even fruits like pineapples, apples, bananas and pears; Also sauce recipes like Barbeque and Teriyaki Sauce and even recipes for cooking Pizza and Focaccia on the grill, and of course, Fruit and Vegetable Kebobs.

Most recipes look fairly simple and healthy. Many ingredients may need to be purchased from a natural health food store like agar-agar, arrowroot, miso, and Sucanat (or pure dried sugar cane juice), etc... Most grilled recipes can be cooked on either charcoal, gas or electric grills. Some of the recipes are not grilled, but are made to be served with grilled ingredients such as some of the desserts, such as the two sorbet recipes, Cleopatra Cake, Nirvana (Coconut Pudding), Libertine Lemon Pie, and Persephone's Pineapple Pie with Coconut Pie Crust. There is one cake, Cake a la Eve, that is baked on a gas grill! I haven't tried any of the recipes as of yet. Contents are as follows:
