I sent a book almost a month ago, it was sent and arrived quite awhile ago, but the requester isn't marking it received. They aren't answering emails, so how do I get my point? |

Well, the only thing I can say is you have no way of knowing 100% that the correct person received the book! If they aren't responding to emails you might contact TPTB and they may be able to follow up and see if she did in fact receive it or perhaps her account is on hold and she is not available to verify it has been received and in good condition. |

Actually, I think the requestor will get her credit back, and you will be out in the cold . . . if it goes lost, that is. The one consolation is that PBS keeps track of these type of events, and eventually a person will not be a member anymore, if they do it too often. If, perchance, that happens before your book goes lost, I believe the credit will go to you, but not so sure if they do anything about it after a book goes lost. Okay, you say "it was sent and arrived quite awhile ago". How do you know? Did you use DC through the site? Then you already have your credit. Look in your 'Credit Registry' to see if it's there. |

If you used PBS DC you'll get your credit. Also just because the DC is scanned delivered doesn't actually mean it's made it to that person. It just means it made it to their local PO. It could still be a few days afterwards. I had one that was sitting at the local PO for over a week before it was finally delivered. Then there are people like me, with a mail carrier that puts mail in the wrong boxes on a regular basis. I've had books show up on my doorstep and in my newspaper box. Who knows how many days they sat in my neighbors house before they did that. If the account is deemed inactive or it's been closed the system is supposed to mark the book received for you. |

I just had a book go lost this morning. The email saying that the book went lost was sent at 2:23am and the email telling me that the lost book had been received was sent at 2:42am. Anyway, I had been looking into the whole "lost book" procedure because I saw this one about to go lost. In the Help section it says that once the book goes lost you should contact the member to make sure they did not receive the book and just forget to mark it mailed. If you don't hear back within a week you should contact PBS and they will look into it.

This happens to me reqularly because it takes longer sometimes for books to get to and from Alaska. I just hang in there and always request that the other party wait too. I use PBS DC, so if they claim it didn't get there, I still get my credit. |

Okay, so if you use PBS DC and the person doesn't mark it received, even thought tracking says it was delivered, do you still get to keep the credit? I was under the impression that you still lose the credit despite the DC proving delivery. I have a situation like that now. The DC shows it was delivered two weeks ago and the person hasn't marked it and doesn't respond to e-mails. My concern is that I will end up losing my credit.
