I recently finished a 7 book series that I really liked. Usually I just stick to cozies with some exceptions. The first one of these really held my attention. I think it is because of the story setting - Reno, Carson City at times, Ely in one book, the Cal-Neva line, Lake Tahoe, and occassionally some action in Las Vegas, but not much. Most of the stories, though, are set in Reno. Since that area was somewhere i frequented in my single days, I liked being reminded of "real" places. The woman detective's name is Frankie O'Neal. She likes to play Keno, has 2 cats, likes old movies on TV, and has mother-relation problems. I don't usually go through a whole series at a time, meaning reading one right after the other, but this series was fun! Not funny humerous, perhaps fun to read is a better description. I've probably gotten too wordy in recommending this series. I haven't done this before.,so please excuse. Anyway, I thought someone would enjoy them.

Sounds like a good series. I lived in Northern California through my teens and early 20s and I used to go to Tahoe and Reno a lot, too. Skiing, back when it was almost affordable! LOL!
