First Period (1862 - 1885): A time of growth, and of human, religious, and priestly... more » formation from his birth (1852) until his priestly ordination (1885). Second Period (1885 - 1900): Fifteen years during which he served the Carmelite Order and the Church in Spain. He was engaged during this time in the work of formation, leadership, and an immense apostolic ministry. Third Period (1900 - 1917): Seventeen years of missionary activity in Malabar, South India. His work was chiefly in the Mission of Verapoly, where his zeal and missionary dedication brought many apostolic initiatives to that mission. Fourth Period (1917 - 1935): Seventeen further years, this time in Europe and America, during which he initiated it promoted various projects to raise people's consciousness for the missionary ideal.
