A few weeks ago I sent out 5 wish list books , all were received but one. I waited a little longer, found my recite and noticed that 2 went to the same place ( different address)  So what I think happened was the post office put the same place for both.  I contacted the lady and asked her if she got the lost one and she said " yes,it came awhile ago and forgot about it"  and she asked if I wanted her to send it back. I said could you send it to the address on it and I'll pay you a credit. that was the 14th of this month and have not heard back so I send another pm and nothing.

I told the lady that it was meant for I would track it down...now what?

Did she agree in a PM to send it on to the intended recipient for you? Did you already send her a credit to do so? If yes, I would contact TPTB, explain exactly what you have told us and received no reply. PBS should be able to see where she promised to re-send for you and failed to communicate with you any further on the issue. Maybe they can contact to find out what's going on.

That last pm I got from her was on the 14th ,when she asked " would you like me to send it to you"  I pm'ed her back and said Could you send it to the person it was suppost to go and I'll send you a credit......no pm back yet.. I have not sent her a credit yet because I have none.....but if she does agree to that I could buy one..or wait for.some because I sent more books out so I should be getting credits soon.

the 14th was saturday. yesterday was the first time to mail maybe. not enough time has gone by yet. maybe you can call the local p o and tell them what has happened. all they have to do is pick up at the wrong address and take to the right address in the same town. is that right?

If I understand the situation correctly, the PO misdelivered the 'lost' book so it is their responsibility to take it to proper address without any additional postage to be paid.  Sounds like the lady who got it by mistake needs to be ethical and take the package back to PO if they won't pick it up.

Yes , I would even appreciate it if she would take it back to the post office.  I'd like to update the lady who it was suppost to go to.

She doesn't even have to take it back to the PO. Just put it back out with her outgoing mail. I do this all the time.

Put it back out with outgoing mail and maybe a note stating delivered to wrong address. She should have done that as soon as she got it and realized it wasn't hers. If she opened it, I don't think you are responsible for paying for additional postage, she shouldn't have opened it in the first place.

Maybe you can contact TPTB and they can explain to her what she needs to do.

Ok , I think I'll do that. They can look at the pm's I sent and also see the one where she said she has it.
