Is there a way to turn this setting for getting emails about another version of a book on your wishlist on and off for individual books?  We can do that with requestor conditions, so I thought maybe there was a way to do it for these emails.  I've wishlisted some unabridged audio versions of some popular  and common books, and ended up having to turn off the "other version" emails because I was getting at least 5 emails per day about other versions of the popular books as they were posted into the system.  There are lots of other books on my wishlist that I'd happily take in any edition, and I miss the emails about those books.

I wish there was.  I have some books on WL for unabridged audio too and I had to turn the emails off.  I was getting like 20 a day.  If I wanted a paperback or hardback, I would order one.  I want the unabridged CDs.   I have so many books in the TBR pile, I just have one or 2 versions of other books on WL. If I miss one because it was posted in a dif non-WL version then I'm ok with that. It's better than having to delete all those emails everyday. Especially with dial up.  I have dial up on my computer where I check my email.

When I read this topic I had to go check my settings, I thought maybe I had turned this option off--but no.  I haven't recevied a message about an alternate version for ages.  And, I always have close to 200 books on my wishlist!

It is too bad you can't set it to "notify me of any similar" and "only notify me if the binding matches".  Or, since it seems to be the major problems "Don't notify me of non-audio versions of books I have in audio".

While there is some PB/HB preference, audio seems to be the biggest split.

I had this problem because I have the cd versions of some books on my wishlist and the paperback versions of them are constantly being posted. So, I just created a filter in my email program to filter these emails to a specific folder. You could easily do it for specific books because the wording in the message is the same every time. And most email programs (even web-based ones) have a filter feature.

Oh, the email filter is a great idea, thank you!   Sounds like I wasn't the only one wishing for a solution to that problem, too.
