The second, larger, section of the work is a detailed analysis of the patterns, content, and usefulness of all the contemporary manifestations of the genre. In addition to the "modern" versions of the traditional teen sex guide but also other sources of noncurricular sex education information, both print and audiovisual. These resources include yound adult fiction, religious sex education books, books exploring a particular aspect of teen sexuality (venereal disease, contraception, pregnancy, homosexuality, etc.), and audiovisual films (from Porky's to Condom Sense).
The final chapters and appendixes suggest books for parents and professionals, review sources, an evaluation checklist, core-collection, and weeding bibliographies.
