A Shade of Vampire is a fast-paced and enjoyable read where you'll end begging for more. And by fast-paced, I mean that Bella Forrest don't waste time! When I read the last paragraph in the sneak peek, oh my!, that is the hook that won't let you escape until you read the book.

The main characters, Sofia and Derek have a definitely chemistry and connection that at first they don't want to accept it. And Derek Novak is totally swoon-worthy. I LOVE the world that Bella Forrest has created and I can't wait to read the next books:
Book 2: A Shade of Blood (out now)
Book 3: A Castle of Sand (out June 26, 2013!!! YAY)
Book 4: A Shadow of Light (out July/August 2013)
Book 5: ???

My only issue with this book is that I only wish this book was a little more longer, I wanted more story development and interactions between certain characters. I ended the book with so many questions, that I know will be answered in the following books but meanwhile I can only wish for more pages. This book is around 100 pages.

And finally, thanks to Bella Forrest for providing me with a copy of this Book in exchange of an honest review.

I thought that vampire books had pretty much ran their course. Then I picked up A Shade of Vampire and I was sucked right back in! The world where the vampires live is really unique, with it being on an island and the clan's homes above the trees. I wanted to travel their myself incognito - I wouldn't want to be bitten!

Sofia is a great character! Just your average teenager with angst, yet a compassionate side. When captured, her main goal is to escape and go home. She quickly learns though that the safest place for her until she can achieve her goal is with the vampire prince, Derek Novak. A vampire who has recently awakened from a four hundred year nap and who is quite hungry.

Sofia and Derek's relationship is tumultuous but as the plot unfolds, it begins to strengthen, even though Sofia's goal is still the same; escape. Derek, on the other hand, doesn't let anything go that is his and Sofia is his slave. He also has to learn everything he's missed in the last few centuries as well as deal with an impending threat.

With exceptional world-building, compelling and memorable characters, and writing so good I was up late turning the pages, A Shade of Vampire is intriguing and mesmerizing! I can't wait for the next installment. If you enjoy vampire fiction with a twist, pick up A Shade of Vampire today! It's SOO Good!!
