This is the first book in a series of 3 that tell a fasciating tale of a young woman, Katie, who runs away from home & ends up on the streets of New York. She finds herself clawing her way out of the gutter to finally marrying into money. After not speaking with her mother for 25 years, her husband sends her home to make peace with her mother. She not only makes peace with her mother & with her best friend growing up but also with God & in the process loses her husband. Having lived in New York, the portrayal of life from both the bottom & the top is an excellent portrayal. You will want to read all 3 books.
