This is the book Shane by Jack Schaefer. It is one of the best reads I have ever read regardless of genre.
Narrated by a boy(we see the world through his eyes) it tells the classic story of a mysterious man who stops by the boys farm to water his horse.
He gets caught in the plight of the family and the other small homesteaders VS. the powerful cattle baron trying to take all the land for himself.
This book is the Critical Edition. Because the book was so well received by the critics, you have the whole book here along with notes from so called experts about it.
I did not read these notes, I just wanted to read the book.
This is my 3rd copy of this book I have owned over the years. I have read it about 8 or 9 times.
This copy was read only once and is in excellent shape.
