This was such a good book I'm not sure 6 stars is enough to give it. I actually turned to the beginning and started reading it again as soon as I finished it. Debra's frightening story of how her world was "shattered" shows how quickly life can change thru no fault of our own. Her story of how she put her life back together was inspiring.

I really enjoyed this book. The author divulges enough detail to portray the violence she and her family suffered, but not so much detail that it becomes grotesque. It is written in a manner that allows the reader to really connect with the victim. I found myself reading each page, even the chapters about the trial (which I usually find myself skipping). I enjoyed the style of writing and found it easy to read. The only minor disappointment was the lack of pictures. It would have been nice to see some photos of the people involved to be able to put faces with the names.
