Susan

I bumped an older post about Christine Feehan's Dark series with the carpathians. There's also her paranormal series -- I'd recommend reading all the books in the series in order if you can, though with the Drake sisters and the Dark series I started later and went backwards -- Her website lists the order for all the book - They do stand alone but couples and happenings are referred to often and built upon so I think going in order is still the best if you can pick and choose.

I love Maggie Shayne!!  I didn't read her books in order, but if you are interested in doing so, she has a list of them (with published dates) here:

Enjoy!

There are so many good paranormal series out there, it's hard to narrow it down.

Do you want to follow a single character?

Katie McAllister (funny) - Aisling Grey, Dark Ones, or Grey Dragon Series

Julie Kenner (funny) - Aphrodite Series

Carrie Vaughn - Kitty Norville Series

Patricia Briggs - Mercy Thompson Series

Or a group?

J.R. Ward - BDB Series

Christine Warren - Other Series

Lynn Veihl - The Darkyn Series

Jayne Castle - St. Helene's (flower series) or Hunter series

And that's just a get started list.  Goodluck.

These two sticky threads in the paranormal forum are really helpful when I'm looking for a book/series or wanting to get in early on new release WL books (sometimes 8-9 mo. before their release date).   I keep both of them in my Watched Topics list.

Paranormal Series

Paranormal Books to Wish List

This is one for people offering WL/RL books before posting them on their bookshelves.  Usually first PM gets the book.

I've been listening to the CF Dark series on audio.  They're ok but kind of repetative.  I'll finish listening to the ones I have, which is the 1st 6 of the series but I doubt I'll seek out anymore in paperback or audio format.

Maggie shayne is sorta old fashion and most of her books sort of drag for me but I still read them.

Christine Feehan's was what  I first started off with and in the begining I just loved them and I have read them all but they are sorta repetitive.

I really hate to say this but since discovering other paranormal authors I probably wouldn't read any more of Feehan's books.

I have to say if you love Kenyon than you should read JR wards series I have only read the first one and I'm waiting for the rest but I already can tell you I'm gonna love them because it reminds me of Kenyon's books.

I absolutely LOVED Shayne's witch series ( Eternity, etc), but didn't like her vampire stuff  at all ( endless rambling that went no where)..... I adored Feehan's earlier Dark books (Dark Gold, Dark Magic) but  after her 5th Dark book I lost interest and now all of her books just sound the same to me...
