Great book, can't wait to finsh this series of Mrs.Peterson's books. She is such an impressive writer. Every book just makes you feel as if you are standing right beside the character in the book and expericing there trails and tribulations.
I just finished this novel. What an endearing story. I greatly appreciated the attention to detail of the times and even more so of the deep, tragic feelings of the main character. When a writer can have you feel what her character feels - you know you've found a treasure.
This story had me from beginning to end. I even wondered at times during my day just when I could get back to the story, as I was working. Very powerful and raw emotions are felt as you go through Simone's "ordeal" and hope on her behalf. No spoilers here, but you'll be glad you read this one.
Very exciting historical fiction about Simone Dumas, deprived of her mothers love at an early age and abused by her father. After her father sells his property and Simone to another man, she knows she has to flee. She ends up in Topeka, Kansas, training to be a Harvey Girl for Fred Harvey's famous restaurants. Lots of suspense and romance. Great Read!!!!!!
I enjoyed this series alot. It makes for a good rainy day read.
One of the sweetest books I've read! A story of courage and hope, as well as a sweet love story. I couldn't put it down.
