I remember loving this book as a child, and thought my students would love it as well. They definitely did. An excellent book for young readers, especially those that are dog lovers.

Great story for kids. My 8-yr-old loved it.

A modern classic for the young reader. This book has won numerous awards, and even better, is well-loved by the young reader (upper elementary age.) Shiloh is a dog but this is not a story in which the dog dies, never fear, because there is even a sequel. Lovely book.
