I ordered a book.

It was marked shipped

Sender then went on vacation

Book was returned to sender for more postage

Book sat and sat and sat

Sender returned from vacation

Today is Friday, August 5

The book transaction will time out on Tuesday, August 9

Sender wants to mail the book

The book probably won't arrive before the transaction deadline.

I don't really care about getting the book anymore. I'd rather cancel.

How do I kill this transaction? I can't cancel from my side. I don't think she can either.

If she marked it mailed, neither of you can cancel. She should contact the Team and ask them to cancel it for her.

I would also contact the team myself and explain the situation, tell them you pm'd the poster and ask that they cancel it for her.

They will only cancel the transaction if the sender asks them...in situations like this only the sender can verify that they indeed haven't mailed the book.

Well, and it is not fair because unless it is a wishlisted book the sender is losing her place in the WL line because it was returned and she has the right to send it out again but, you want it cancelled.  It has been mailed....not sure what TPTB would say at this point...guess if the sender is agreeable she could just not remail it and you could let it time out.

The only time a book came back to me, (I had reversed numbers on a zip code) I felt so bad I sent a PM right away and mailed the book first class. It was there before it went lost. Even if it goes" lost" it can still be marked received, when it arrives. You will want this book again, just let it rest on a shelf for a week or so ,LOL

Write her and tell her you no longer want the book and ask her to write to the Admin Team and have them cancel the transaction on your end.  If they cancel it on your end, the book won't be added to your wish list or reminder list, and her book will be offered to the next person on the wish list, or she'll be placed back in her spot in the sending line.

If she doesn't write to them and ask them to cancel, you'll get your credit back anyway when the server marks the book "lost."  At that point, remove the book from your wish list or reminder list.
